ALAMO - arrived at Ferret Wise 4-15-2008...a transfer from MSPCA Springfield, MA. Alamo, an older boy estimated at 4-5 yrs, had been dropped off at the MSPCA shelter as his owner had lost employment. The MSPCA had caged him with Trafton an abandoned ferret and the two seemed to comfort each other-- so they remain today in a group. Alamo and his buddy Trafton were transferred to VT by a MSPCA volunteer where shelter Mom Alicia received them and they were immediately transferred to Marilyn at Ledoux Hospice. Today Alamo is a thriving boy in a group of 3 ferrets. |

ALEKSANDER - Arrived at Ferret Wise ST Gregory's Hospice in Aug. 2006 a transfer who arrived as a stray at the Manchester Animal Shelter. Aleksander, at est. 1 yr of age on arrival, fit into a small group consisting of Skippy, and Napolean, Both cagemates have since passed on and Aleksander travels with hospice Mom Judy in the Summer for educational events. He is enjoying his days as senior ferret at St Gregory's hospice a Ferret Wise Center. |

BARN-Y - was abandoned at 5 years of age on Jan 24 in 1 degree weather. He was found by a farmer and FerretWise took him in on Jan 26. After a very shaky beginning he has healed from the frostbite burns and made a great recovery.
He would love to be your foster kid. |

BLOSSOM - is our younger kid- another PROFOUNDLY DEAF ferret she hides and sleeps scaring the shelter folks! Blossom was turned in by a family who could not deal with her hearing deficit, she is doing well after a surgery on Oct 2008.
Blossom would love to have a foster grandparent. |

CHARLIE CHUCKLES - Arrived at Ferret Wise in Aug of 2009. One of 2 abandoned ferrets who were discovered in a carrier outside of the Manchester Animal Shelter. Just nine months of age Charlie was full of excitement once allowed to roam out of a cage. He quickly took to ferret games and water bowl tipping. Charlie has gained needed weight and is currently in his forever home at Hospice Dad Maurice's. |

DAPPER DAN - arrived at Ferret Wise 6-24-2006 at the tender age of 12 weeks. He was a Petco ferret that had been sold to a family with young children then returned as he developed a loose stool condition. He was treated by Dr George in Concord, then returned to the store, then back into the family. The family realized that with an infant and other very young children the ferret was not a match. So he was delivered to Ferret Wise. It took a while to get his stress condition corrected, then Dad Maurice agreed to provide a permanent child free environment for him. Today Dapper is a middle aged guy ferret enjoying life. He has started on melatonin implants, gets soup and long play sessions. |

DARK STAR - arrived as an emergency admit to Ferret Wise in late Nov 2009. She had been found a stray in Rindge NH and nearly starved to death. The person nursed her to health but had to seek shelter for her due to a human health condition. Dark Star is an impish gal age 3-4 yrs. She has warmed up, filled out and is doing well. She currently resides in her forever home at Greg's Ferret Funhouse where she fills a void left by LizBeth's passing- and keeps Ozzie and Sasha entertained. She is on melatonin implants currently and looks wonderful. |

DESTINY - arrived at Ferret Wise 3-25-2007. Ferret Wise intervened and retrieved her form a MA pet shop (not surprisingly the same pet shop Jerimiah was rescued from) where she had been back-roomed due to nipping. She was an aggressive and fearful girl upon arriving - and still remains extremely fearful of humans . Destiny receives lupron and melatonin to help her deal with aggressive tendencies but most days does well with shelter Mom. She remains in the core education group with Elric at Ferret Wise Center. |

ELRIC - Elric FerretWise arrived 11-10-2006 as an emergency surgery case through The Educated Ferret in MA. At 1 1/2 yrs of age,
he had been lost for several days and then located inside a wall. Elric was unable to take food and surgery revealed he had swallowed insulation. After surgery and an extended recovery Elric bonded with shelter Dad who did many of his feedings. He heads up the shelter Educational touring group and resides in the main shelter center. |

HIDEE - Arrived at Ferret Wise in Aug of 2009. One of 2 abandoned ferrets who were discovered in a carrier outside of the Manchester Animal Shelter. Just eight months of age Hidee was fearful of everyone. She always hid when out of the cage, slowly she adapted to the human environment. She quickly took to ferret games and Hide and seek. Hidee has gained needed weight and is currently in her forever home at Hospice Dad Maurice's with her buddy Charlie. |

JJ aka JERIMIAH JR. - arrived at Ferret Wise 5-22-2006 at an estimated 4 yrs of age, he had been turned into the MSPCA Boston as a stray found wandering on the sidewalks. After a brief stay with MAFF, he was transported to Ferret Wise in honor of former mascot Jerimiah. A profoundly deaf boy, JJ did not tolerate ferrets well. He bonded eventually with Austin and both boys were relocated at hospice Dad's hospice Greg's Ferret Funhouse, in Rochester. In Aug of 2008 JJ was diagnosed with lymphoma, he has responded well to his prednisone treatments and now resides with his friend Picasso. |

MADDIE - was admitted to Ferret Wise via Ledoux Hospice on 3-3-2009 from a Charlestown, NH location. She was reported as a biter, but when retrieved she had extremely long nails, was caged in a bird cage w/o access to water bottle, and was being fed bananas. Poor Maddie battled long and hard to come back form starvation with the love
and care of hospice Mom Marilyn. She was not a biter, just a scared and neglected ferret lady. She rejoiced at the hospice soup and gained weight and looked wonderful. Maddie passed in her sleep on Dec 4, 2009. She knew love in her last months and to trust humans. We will miss dear Maddie. |

MUGGS - arrived at Ferret Wise 12-19-2002 a young kit at barely 5 mos. of age. The human family in VT suffered a plight with
cancer and were not able to care for him. He bonded well with several profoundly deaf ferrets at Ferret Wise
guiding them in play. Eventually he was adopted with them into a human family-- but the family relocated to
California 8 mos later. Muggs and his deaf companions arrived at Maurice's hospice, their final move. Since
arriving both the deaf ferrets have passed on.. Muggs, a stately old gent is enjoying his last years. He is on Melatonin implants every 3 mos under the care of Ferret Wise. |

OZZIE - arrived at Ferret Wise 5-18-2005 at 2.2 years of age. He was a profoundly deaf and aggressive fear biter. He had been
in a family with several young gals who would arrive at school with ferret bites... Ozzie was an emergency admit. His aggression has stayed towards females, though occasionally in his forever home with Dad Greg at Greg's Ferret Funhouse, he occasionally makes a point even now! Ozzie resides in a group with Sasha and Dark Star. He receives melatonin implants once every 3 mos and is mellowing out in his older years.

PEPPERMINT PATTY - arrived at Ferret Wise in October 2008, a veterinary referral, this young gal was in a home that could not care for her. An adoptive placement was tried for several months, but the elder ferrets would not tolerate her, so right before the Holidays Ferret Wise vet tech, Skyla, agreed to hospice this traumatized gal so she would not bounce around any more. Today Peppermint Patty resides and plays in a group of 4 ferrets and is thankful for her rescue. |

PICASSO - arrived at Ferret Wise 7-19-2009 an older ferret ( est 4-5 yrs) needing a new home out of VT. Shelter friend Bonnie Webster transported him down to a hospice meeting & cookout and Picasso made his last transport into Dad Greg's Ferret Funhouse hospice. Picasso has gained a good amount of weight and grown a winter coat. He is happily roaming and playing as JJ's companion . |

PRINCESS - Princess arrived at Ferret Wise 7-17-2004, she was transported from Lowell, MA , a slight silver ferret, she was reported to be a health risk for her caretaker who was an asthma patient. Princess was a screamer and profoundly deaf. She was assessed and cared for at the shelter and later transferred to Dad Maurice in his hospice where she enjoyed carousing with a moderate group of ferrets and given the nickname of Crazy Daisy by Dad Maurice! Today she has settled down some, is on melatonin implants and living a comfortable life. |

SASHA - arrived at Ferret Wise 12-1-2004 at age 1 year, one of two "biter" ferrets transferred from NEFFER in MA. Sasha was
a shy but protective gal overseeing her slight companion Snoodle who was plagued with medical problems. Snoodle passed away in 2006, and Sasha became a loving gal. Sasha now resides with hospice Dad Greg at Greg's Ferret Funhouse. She receives melatonin implants every 3 mos and loves her play times. |

TAFFY - aka Trafton arrived at Ferret Wise 4-15-2008 a transfer from MSPCA Springfield, MA. Taffy had been abandoned in a knapsack in a public park in Springfield. His estimated age 3-4 yrs., The MSPCA had caged him with Alamo and the two seemed to comfort each other-- so they remain today in a group. Taffy and Alamo were transferred to VT by a MSPCA volunteer where shelter Mom Alicia received them and they were immediately transferred to Marilyn at Ledoux Hospice. Today Taffy is a thriving boy in a group of 3 ferrets. |

WEDNESDAY - arrived at Ferret Wise 5-9-2007 as a transfer from MSPCA Springfield. She had been turned in to the shelter by a pet shop worker after being back-roomed for nipping. Wednesday was scared almost to death, she narrowly escaped her journey to the euth. chamber when a volunteer intervened. She was caged separately and offered food & water. She responded and ate & drank for several days, then was transported. Shelter Mom worked with Wednesday for several weeks to assess her behavior & health issues. She was transported in July to Mom Marilyn at LeDoux hospice where she resides today with cage mates Alamo & Taffy. |
